Al-Azhar 6 Islamic Junior High School Jakapermai is the first Islamic junior high school under the Al-Azhar Foundation in Bekasi City, located in the serene residential area of Jakapermai, precisely at Jl. Cendana II No. 84, Jakapermai, Jakasampurna, West Bekasi.

Founded in the 1992–1993 academic year, this school represents a collaboration between Yayasan Wakaf Al-Muhajirien Jakapermai and Yayasan Pesantren Islam (YPI) Al-Azhar, based in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

Yayasan Pesantren Islam Al-Azhar, established on April 17, 1952, has a clear vision: to deliver education that integrates faith (IMTAQ) and science & technology (IPTEK) — in harmony with the National Education Goals stated in Law No. 20/2003, Article 3.

Over the years, YPI Al-Azhar has grown into a prestigious network, comprising over 106 educational institutions — from playgroups to universities — across the Indonesian archipelago. SMP Islam Al-Azhar 6 Jakapermai, established on March 2, 1992, is proud to be a part of this remarkable journey.

A Unique Curriculum for Balanced Growth

We offer a well-rounded educational experience by implementing the enhanced 2004 National Curriculum alongside a robust Islamic Studies curriculum, which includes:

• Islamic Religious Education – 3 hours/week

• Al-Qur'an Studies – 2 hours/week

• Arabic Language – 2 hours/week

This combination ensures students develop not only academically but also spiritually and morally.

Facilities That Support Learning

SMP Islam Al-Azhar 6 Jakapermai features two main buildings:

• The original building is used for classrooms and teacher offices.

• The new building houses a multipurpose hall and science laboratories, supporting both academic and extracurricular activities.
