A Legacy of Excellence in Islamic and Academic Education SMP Islam Al-Azhar 6 Jakapermai is the first Islamic junior high school in Bekasi City under the Al-Azhar educational network. The school is located in the serene residential area of Jakapermai, precisely at Jl. Cendana II No. 84, Jakapermai, Jakasampurna, West Bekasi.

Established in the 1992–1993 academic year, the school is the result of a collaboration between Yayasan Wakaf Al Muhajirien and Yayasan Pesantren Islam Al-Azhar (YPI Al-Azhar), headquartered in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

Part of the Renowned YPI Al-Azhar Network Founded on April 17, 1952, Yayasan Pesantren Islam Al-Azhar has a clear vision: to provide education that integrates faith (IMTAQ) and science & technology (IPTEK), in alignment with Indonesia’s National Education Goals as stated in Law No. 20/2003, Article 3. Over the decades, YPI Al-Azhar has grown into a prestigious educational network comprising more than 106 institutions, from playgroups to universities, across Indonesia. SMP Islam Al-Azhar 6 Jakapermai, established on March 2, 1992, is proud to be part of this distinguished legacy.

A Distinctive Curriculum for Holistic Development The school implements the National Curriculum enriched with a strong Islamic Studies curriculum, including: Islamic Religious Education – 3 hours per week Al-Qur’an Studies – 2 hours per week Arabic Language – 2 hours per week This balanced approach ensures that students grow academically, spiritually, and morally.

The new building accommodates a multipurpose hall and science laboratories, supporting both academic and extracurricular activities.
